2-Ingredient Dessert Bars


Ingredients:

  • 1 Box - Angel Food Cake Mix

  • 1 (21 oz) Can - Pie Filling

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350º.

  2. Mix together cake mix and pie filling.

  3. Pour into greased 9x13" cake pan (we used butter flavored cooking spray).

  4. Bake 25-30 minutes until done. (Test by inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it's done!)

  5. Allow to cool, then cut into squares.

  6. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • We used cherry pie filling and apple pie filling for the ones pictured. On the apple pie bars, we sprinkled a mixture of cinnamon and sugar on the top before baking.

  • When removing from the oven, the mix will be puffy and deflate as it cools.

  • Use any kind of pan you wish, i.e., bundt pan, round cake pan, even muffin tins. Just be sure to grease thoroughly and adjust cooking times as needed.

  • Get creative! Use lemon pie filling and sprinkle with powdered sugar when finished. Use blueberry filling or canned crushed pineapple and serve with fresh fruit. You can even use Devils Food Cake Mix and canned pumpkin! The possibilities are endless!
