Candied Pecans

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 TBSP - Brown Sugar

  • 1-1/2 Tsp - Water

  • 1/4 Tsp - Vanilla Extract

  • 1/4 Tsp - Salt

  • 1 Cup - Pecans

Preparation:

  1. Combine sugar, water, extract, and salt. Set aside.

  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and toast pecans.

  3. Add sugar mixture and immediate remove from heat, quickly tossing to combine.

  4. Place onto a sheet of parchment paper, spreading in an even layer.

  5. Allow to cool for about 30 minutes to harden.

  6. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Be sure to place your parchment paper on a plate or cutting board as the nuts will be very hot and can burn your work surface.

  • When toasting nuts, use your nose! As soon as you smell the nuttiness, they're done!

  • Get creative! Use any kind of nut you choose. When halfway cooled, add some more brown sugar with some cinnamon for an extra sweet treat!
