Ingredients:
1 Lb - Chicken Wings
2 TBSP - Butter
2 TBSP - Flour
1 Cup - Whole Milk
1/2 Cup - Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1-2 TBSP - Hot Sauce
1 Tsp - Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper
Preparation:
Season wings with salt and pepper.
Cook wings using preferred method (click here for instructions).
Meanwhile, melt butter over medium heat, then add flour and whisk to combine, cooking about 2 minutes to cook off raw flour.
Add milk slowly whisking vigorously to avoid lumps, then continue to cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add cheese, hot sauce, garlic powder, and salt to taste.
Toss cooked wings in sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
Tips:
We prefer air frying wings for this recipe, but grilled or baked works well too.
To reheat leftover sauce, we added a couple tablespoons of milk and stirred in a saucepan over medium heat until desired consistency is reached.
Get creative! Substitute the cheddar cheese with colby jack, monterey jack, or any other kind of hearty shredded cheese or use a combination of cheeses. Spice it up even more by adding some additional hot sauce, cayenne pepper, or hot pepper flakes.
