Corned Beef & Swiss Bake

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cans - Refrigerated Crescent Rolls

  • 1.25 Lb. - Deli Sliced Corned Beef

  • 1 Lb. - Deli Sliced Swiss Cheese

  • 1 Can - Sauerkraut

  • 2/3 Cup - Thousand Island Dressing

  • 1 Each - Egg

  • 3 Tsp - Caraway Seeds

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375º.

  2. Spray a 9x13 baking pan. Unroll 1 tube of crescent rolls and place in pan, pinching together all the seams to make one cohesive sheet.

  3. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.

  4. Drain sauerkraut and place in a bowl. Stir in thousand island dressing.

  5. Layer half of the cheese on the baked crescent sheet.

  6. Place all the meat over the cheese.

  7. Top with sauerkraut mixture, then top with remaining cheese.

  8. On a flat work surface such as a cutting board or countertop, unroll the remaining tube of crescent rolls, pinching together all seams as before.

  9. Carefully lift and place on top layer of cheese.

  10. Lightly beat egg and brush over the top.

  11. Sprinkle with caraway seeds, then place in oven and bake 13-15 minutes or until top is golden brown.

  12. Remove from oven and let sit 5 minutes before cutting into squares.

  13. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Don't overcook the bottom layer and it will be back in the oven after all the toppings are on.

  • You may lightly flour your work surface if the dough begins to stick.

  • Get creative! Use different combinations of meat and cheese to make your own unique dish! Some ideas would be turkey and provolone, roast beef and havarti...the possibilities are endless!
