Steamed Pork Dumplings

Ingredients:

  • 1 Lb - Ground Pork

  • 1 Each - Egg

  • 1/2 Cup - Shredded Napa Cabbage

  • 4-5 Each - Whole Napa Cabbage Leaves

  • 1/4 Cup - Fresh Chopped Cilantro

  • 1/4 Cup - Chopped Scallions

  • 2 TBSP - Soy Sauce

  • 1 TBSP - Rice Wine Vinegar

  • 2 TBSP - Sesame Oil

  • 1 TBSP - Minced Garlic

  • 1/2 TBSP - Fresh Grated Ginger

  • 1 Package - Wonton Wrappers

  • Water

Preparation:

  1. Mix together all ingredients except for whole cabbage leaves and wontons.

  2. Using a glass or dough cutter, cut wontons into circles.

  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of mixture in the middle of the wonton.

  4. Using your finger, moisten the outer edges with water.

  5. Fold the wrapper in a half moon shape and seal, then pinch the top edges together to crimp.

  6. Place a steamer basket in a wok or large pan and fill with water being sure not to touch the bottom tray of the steamer.

  7. Place the whole cabbage leaves in the basket, then add the wontons.

  8. Cook for about 7-9 minutes until the pork is fully cooked.

  9. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Sesame oil is key here for big flavor. If you don't have any sesame oil you can use olive oil but we recommend adding some additional seasoning such as garlic powder and onion powder.

  • If you don't have a steamer basket, you can place wontons in a very shallow layer of slow boiling water. Please note cooking times may vary.

  • After the wontons have cooked, fry them up in a deep fryer for a crispy twist!

  • Get creative! Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or make your own! Just combine equal amounts of soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. Add scallions and some garlic powder and sriracha to taste.
